KATA is a Jersey born and raised DJ. She attributes most of her inspiration to her formative years in a Dominican household where family gatherings, dance, and music were the core guiding principles. KATA calls herself a child of the world, often mixing cultures, sounds, and ideas to fuel her natural need for play and curiosity. As a multi disciplined artist, her practice as a DJ is a form of integration. It embodies remembering, honoring, and exploring our whole existence through music and dance.
